What Happens Here
A circle for curious mathematical minds.
Math Circles are built around problems with depth: invitations that students can enter in many ways, explore together, and keep thinking about after the session ends.
Make conjectures
We practice asking what might be true, testing examples, finding structure, and saying why an idea should work.

The circle gives students a community where serious thinking can also feel playful, beautiful, and social.
Who It Is For
For students who want math with more wonder.
This can be a fit for children who already enjoy math and want more depth, as well as children who have not yet met the kind of math that feels alive to them.
The youngest circles are playful, hands-on, and age-appropriate. Older circles make more room for conjecture, explanation, and the craft of thinking together.
The work is not about speed or memorized tricks. It is about curiosity, persistence, and the craft of thinking together.

Does my child need to be advanced at math?
No. Math Circles are for children who are willing to explore, notice, try ideas, and think with others. Curiosity matters more than speed, grade acceleration, or already knowing advanced material.
Which age group should I choose?
Choose the group matching your child's age at the start of the season. If a birthday, learning profile, or sibling arrangement makes the choice unclear, use the family-visit option before enrolling.
Which groups require a caregiver?
The ages 3-4 and ages 5-6 circles are parent-child groups, so a parent or caregiver stays and participates. Groups for ages 7-13 are designed for children to participate independently.
Can my child join after the season begins?
Possibly, if the appropriate group has space and the timing still makes sense. Because Math Circles run as a defined season, please check availability before enrolling after the first meeting.
What if a group does not reach minimum enrollment?
If a group does not come together, families will be offered another good-fit option or a full refund.
What happens after a missed session?
Enrollment reserves a seasonal seat. Missed sessions are not refunded or automatically rescheduled. If The Number Garden cancels a session, families receive a make-up, credit, or refund.
Is Math Circles tutoring or homework help?
No. Math Circles center on shared puzzles, patterns, conjectures, and mathematical conversation. Families seeking individualized school support should explore Math Mentorship.
What is the cancellation or refund policy?
Seasonal tuition reserves a place for the full Math Circles season. Please review the Policies & FAQ page before enrolling for the complete payment and attendance terms.

Enroll in Math Circles
Math Circles meet on Saturdays in age-banded groups. Ages 3-4 and ages 5-6 are parent + child groups that alternate weeks in the 9:00-9:30am block; older groups meet weekly through the 12-week fall season, September 5-November 21.
